Gizzards and Livers (Ch 4: Goldsboro 2nd, Week 5)

And it came to pass in the fifth week of the third transfer I was sick.

I wasn't terribly sick but I was sick. Because of it not too much happened. If stuff happened I was zoned out and I don't remember it, other than two things: interviews with President and Sister Stevens and a member took us out to Western Sizzlin and I ate gizzards and livers. Livers are not very good, gizzards are alright but still not amazing. I don't know exactly what a gizzard is but I know I saw them when we processed roosters so it's got something to do with chicken insides.

Interviews were really good but scheduling them was a mess. Interviews were going to be on Thursday morning for some people which is when we usually do district council so we had to reschedule that. Then President got sick so they pushed everything back a day so we rescheduled district council again. Then President and Sister Stevens had a meeting pop up between the time scheduled for Elder Pedersen's interview and my interview so we did contacts and comp study while waiting for them and we had to adjust our plans for the day. It also pushed some more interviews to Friday than what was already planned and we planned district council right after interviews but because of the schedule hastle several people were a little late because they were doing interviews. Overall interviews were really good and everything worked out.

Fun fact: I just found out this morning that in April 2022 Elder Holland threw Elder Kearon under the bus before he became an apostle.

Another fun fact: my MTC companion has had a rough go. He's probably reading this which is kinda funny. I checked on him this morning and it sounds like he's doing well which isn't surprising. He seems to be having fun with the uniqueness of his experience. He's had 2 companions go home early, including my mom. This is our third transfer and he's already had 7 companions and 4 areas.

Spiritual thought since I don't have time for a good one: Go read the Book of Mormon! Go read 2 Nephi 31!

Love y'all!
And thus ended the fifth week of the third transfer.

Bowling last week

Church History Museum Visit

My mom and I made this collage for a scout requirement. My mom accidentally put the wrong year on the picture. These pictures are actually from our trip to Utah last December. It was 2015. For scouts I need to write about how this experience helped me feel reverent or helped me better understand my duty to God. It helped me feel reverent because it has historical and religious stuff and only historical and religious stuff. And modern day religious stuff. One example was a replica of the golden plates. We got to lift it to see how heavy they were. They said it was 50 pounds and it was REALLY heavy! Also, I got to see a video that had my Grandma Lynn in it. It was about the early members of the church who were trying to decide who the next prophet should be after Joseph Smith died. Several people had a really strong spiritual experience when Brigham Young began to talk to them and the Holy Ghost helped them know that Brigham Young should be their next prophet. We also went ...

First Week of Home School

On Monday we started home school, On Wednesday at home school I finished a really good book called The Best in the West . It is very interesting. There is an almost eight foot bear in the book! The other book I have read this week is The Tale of Peter Rabbit . It is on my Battle of the Books list. My favorite topic this week has been math. One of the things I learned in math is the hyphen. You don't use a hyphen in numbers one-twenty or in numbers ending in zero. (Because those are whole numbers.) But you do use a hyphen in numbers like twenty-one. I have finished lesson 51. I did all of those lessons plus several quizzes. We went on a walk and saw salmon. They are getting ready to lay eggs and die. They were flopping a lot and fighting over who gets to be in the exact spot where they were born. I got to shoot a BB gun for science. We learned about inertia. We were doing science by shooting the BB gun at a can to see...

A Story From When I was LIttle and Other Stuff

Recently I have been interested in hearing stories about when I was little. One of my favorite stories that Mom told me was about when Ammon and I were little and we would hog the bed. She said that I would come get in her bed over and over again. Dad would carry me back to my own bed, but I would always come back. She said that even though I was small, I would take up ALL the space. Somehow I could make my arms sprawl all over the queen sized bed so there was hardly any room left. When Ammon also tried to get into Mom and Dad's bed it was even worse. Sometimes Dad would just give up on having room and he would go sleep on the couch for the rest of the night. Right now I live in Craig, Alaska on Prince of Wales Island. All of my cousins are in Utah and all of my grandparents are also in Utah. I miss them and am going to visit them in just a few weeks for my baptism. I am inviting all of my cousins, grandmas and grandpas and maybe some of my uncles and one or two aunts. I already ...
